Big Woods Brewing Co.
Located in Speedway (downtown), check out their Six Foot Blonde, one of our favorites, or Hare Trigger, their IPA. Try an Indiana Breaded Tenderloin! The sandwich is twice the size of the bun, but that is how it is meant to be! If you get ketchup, you might notice that everyone in Indiana uses Red Gold instead of Heinz, as that is the local company. It has a sweeter flavor, so be sure to try it out!.

German style beers and great food! Try a flight so you get to sample a bit of everything. Order one of their many mac and cheese combinations, or an Indiana Pork Tenderloin. You can’t go wrong with the food and drink here!

Kitty’s favorite brewery located in the heart of Broadripple, the young arts district. She loves their sour ales (they change with season) and any of the fruit Gose beers. A super fun location, great brews, and reasonable prices! Triton tap doesn’t serve food, so it is only 21+, but being in the heart of Broadripple any restaurant you would want will be walking distance.

Books and Brews
There are several locations, and all are great. Sit and play games or read a book from their library! They have a very wide variety of beers that are constantly changing, all named after books and characters. Clifford, the Irish Style Red is great! A quirky bar with great charm and fun drinks and food.

Places to Eat
Bubba's 33
If you love burgers, this is the place to go! Make sure to order the 33 burger which is â…“ (33%) bacon in the patty. And add extra bacon on top! Delicious burgers, but usually pretty crowded so sit at the bar or call ahead for a table.

Casual Restaurants
Canal Bistro
Canal Bistro is aptly named, sitting right on the canal in Broadripple, this is a city secret gem. Mediterranean food with great outside seating! Try the calamari if you like seafood, otherwise, their Gyros and meat platters are DIVINE!

Mid Range Restaurants
There are a few of these around, but Patachou in Broad Ripple is the original. This French restaurant is great for brunch or lunch. Try the croissant french toast, a croque monsieur, or a crêpe! Their champagne bar is also super fun! Kitty recommends the lavender champagne. If you are flying out of the airport, grab breakfast at the Patchou in the main area before you go through security.

An Indianapolis classic. Linda, Kitty’s grandma, had taken Kitty there since she was little. Unfortunately Mama, the lovely old Italian woman who brought her recipes and ran a very tight ship, passed away.You can still taste her amazing recipes. The tortellini en brodo soup and the pasta bolognese are to die for!

Tastings Wine Bar
Small plates to share and an incredible selection of wines by the glass! This is a fun place right in the middle of downtown in the Conrad. The stuffed dates are great, and you can try wines from France to Germany to India! Be sure to check out the truffles from a local chocolatier!

Lou Vino
Southern-inspired small plates and wines by the glass. Try the roasted cauliflower or the brussel sprouts! A great place to sit and chat, but call ahead for a reservation! This is located downtown in Fishers, only a short drive from Indianapolis, and the city where Kitty grew up!

The Best Desserts
All other ice cream pales in comparison to this ice cream. It is the richest, creamiest ice cream you will ever taste! There is limited parking, so be prepared to park on the street. The chocolate peanut butter brownie is amazing, and the blackberry tastes just like blackberry cobbler.

Cake Bake
You have not had cake until you have had Cake Bake cake! It is even worth feeling sick after eating it according to Kitty. Featured on the Oprah show, their mint cake is the most famous but the raspberry champagne cake is the best. Try a Marie Antoinette, a giant macaron with raspberries and swiss buttercream.
