The Venue
The entire event will take place on Lake Kesslerwood East, at Kitty’s parents’ home. The event will be outside overlooking the lake. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved under a large tent. Stiletto heels are not recommended, but wedges should be fine! It is cooler by the lake than the rest of the state will be, and it can sometimes get chilly at night, so pack a shawl, or have a date whose jacket you can steal. The lake is a small 65 acre private lake. There is an abundance of wildlife from hummingbirds to herons to a bald eagle, so be on the lookout! In front of the house is part of the Monon Trail, a state park and walking trail, which is beautiful in spring. We encourage you to enjoy the sights before the ceremony and during cocktail hour in a boat on the lake or up the promenade! Dinner, Dancing, and Merriment will continue on the property! There will be a tent with fans and heaters for everyone's comfort. May is usually in the 70's, although it can get a little brisk in the evening on the lake, so a shawl or jacket is recommended.

Parking
There is limited street parking, so there is a parking lot near Lincoln Square Pancake House (a good spot for breakfast!). There is an empty building next door with lots of parking. We are working on additional parking accommodations and shuttle possibilities. Uber and Lyft also operate all throughout Indianapolis and the surrounding area and are good options. It is usually about 10-15 minutes to the Broadripple area, 15 minutes to Fishers, and 15-20 minutes to the circle downtown depending on traffic.
Local tip: The main road leading to downtown has middle lanes that change direction at rush hour--look for the overhead lights to be a Green Arrow or Red X

The Decor
The tables will be decorated with family pieces of antique china, candlesticks, teapots and other antiques. Every table will be different, and we hope you explore and get to see all of the hidden details. We also will have a pineapple hidden somewhere at the reception. Kitty and Alex used to watch the show Psych together, and a pineapple was hidden in every episode. Alex claims it wasn’t a contest to find it first (it was!). Whoever finds the pineapple first wins a bottle of wine and bragging rights.
The Food
Alex and Kitty love food, and are also aware of diet restrictions! Please let us know if there is anything you cannot have and we will be sure to accommodate you. The menu will be full of family recipes! Please select your meal when you RSVP. Dinner will be served under a tent, but outside.
The Drinks
We will be having a limited open bar at cocktail hour. There will be a few types of beer and wine, and then our signature drinks, named after our cats.
The Rowan: Tequila and Lavender Lemonade
The Rorschach: A Kentucky Mule: Bourbon, Ginger Beer, and Lime

The Figaro: Gin and Tonic with a Twist of Lime
Dinner and reception will have a limited selection open bar with local beer, signature drinks, and wine. Instead of a champagne toast, we will be having a special #bourbonorbubbles toast. We know that champagne is not for everyone, so please pick whether you would prefer champagne or bourbon to toast with when you RSVP!
The Dessert

Look for the povatica, a traditional Croatian pastry bread that Alex’s grandmother, Oma, makes. There will be cake at the reception!
