Furus is a half-elf born to unknown parents. As a child he was abandoned on the steps of the Miztcka temple in Rosary Row. The clergy saw his bright eyes and they instantly fell in love. A happy child, he grew up listening to music and stories, but never traveled outside the temple further than the port in Cara Blanca. The priests and priestesses taught him a number of instruments, though he preferred the violin. They knew a life of worship wasn't going to fulfill Furus, but they did implore him to spread happiness and joy through music, so he became a bard and decided to travel.
Being stuck on the island his whole life made Furus itching to travel. There were constantly musicians coming to the temple to pray and be blessed, learn about new instruments, and to harvest the sacred wood to build new instruments. Harvesting the wood can only be done at the full moon and you can only harvest from one tree at a time. It takes three trees to make a blessed instrument, as there are three separate woods that need to be used: birch, yew, and rosewood. While musicians stay to make their instrument they would regale Furus with tales all about life around the world and teach him new ways to play and perform.
His goal became to travel and perform as many places as possible, especially Glass Spire, the high elf capital. It is said that the acoustics in the glass castle are so perfect that when Olivier D'Arrancio made his perfect performance 700 years ago, you could hear a single tear rolling down the princess's cheek as she wept over the beauty of the performance.
The Temple didn't want to lose him, but they knew he could be contained no longer. The songs of the world were calling to him, and he needed to follow their sounds. His final task was to build his own violin from the three sacred woods. The group tearfully watched him wave goodbye.
He first traveled South to Torscocanno, intending to see Alcyonacia and get a glimpse of Glass Spire across the sea. There he met Galia and her family. They were traveling storytellers (Galia) and performers (her family). Their bard was rather old and wanted to retire, so he offered to train Furus in their country's songs and let him take over. He promised to let Furus make a new instrument from the Jade Trees in their forest if he agreed to take care of Galia. So far Furus has been too shy to ask for permission to harvest from a Jade Tree as they are so sacred to the Kitsune. He also has his eye on the feyblossom tree, as he thinks it would make an amazing sound. Furus would love to harvest from three trees and make one the way they make the blessed instruments for Mitscka, but he hasn't found the right wood for a third part.
When the Sorchannas aren't traveling, they live in Wyrmwood Forest outside Balvonier. In Balvonier, Furus is well liked. Gustav and Karkov are the half-orc bouncers for Black Poppy brothel. Galia is friends with the girls there, and introduced Furus to everyone. Avery Berry is Mary Berry's brother, and he is the musician at the brothel. He is also quieter and more reclusive, so the two get along very well. Gustav and Karkov can hype the group up and get everyone in trouble, but Avery is usually able to smooth over the situation and get everyone out of trouble.
